The truth about animal 'rights' activists

Wed Oct 21, 2009, 1:48 PM
Originally taken from :iconpitbulllady:'s journal

I love this person's sense of activism and for informing people, especially animal lovers, of issues such as this. Therefore, I'm spreading her journal 'cause I love animals as well and think the HSUS and PETA are evil. Enjoy, and be sure to speak to :iconpitbulllady: if you have any questions or rebuttles (check out her managerie, as well)

"NO, it isn't hunters, or so-called "puppy millers" or even Michael Vick, but the most powerful, richest Animal Rights organization on the face the planet, the Humane Society of the United States(HSUS).

But wait, isn't "animal rights" about HELPING animals, protecting them from cruelty and abuse? And doesn't the Humane Society rescue animals that have been abused, neglected, hurt and abandoned and give them second chances?

Think again.

The Animal Rights movement is a religion in and of itself, a cult based on the concept that animals are equal, morally and intellectually, to humans, and should therefore have the same "rights" that we do and should be treated as equals. Sounds nice until you dig deeper in the fundamental roots of the AR cause, which is NOT based on a love or respect of animals, so much as it is on a deeply-rooted HATRED of humanity. This is a movement which states that all animal testing, including that intended to provide cures/treatments of serious diseases in both humans AND animals, should cease, and that humans which contract cancer, heart disease, diabetes, HIV, bacterial infections, etc., should simply be allowed to die, without treatments. This is a movement which laments the deaths of chickens in poultry processing plants, yet actively supports the deaths of unborn human infants. This is a movement whose leaders have openly called for the murder of scientists who utilize animals in their research.

Now, if THIS is how they treat HUMANS, what would "equal" treatment of animals involve?

By far the richest, most influential organization devoted to the AR cause is the Humane Society of the United States, or HSUS. Their tremendous financial wealth, over 200 million dollars, has been amassed entirely from donations by often well-meaning individuals and corporations who actually believe that their money is going to help save animals in need, when nothing could be further from the truth! 57% of the donations are used for advertising, like those commercials you see on tv, with the pitiful, sad-eyed animals. The rest is divided between lobbying efforts, "education" and salaries of employees. So, how much does HSUS spend on shelters for abused, abandoned and neglected animals? ZERO percent, that's how much! The fact that they have that deceptive word "humane" as part of their name misleads people into believing that they are helping fund local shelters and rescues, when in fact, it does nothing of the sort. The "Humane" Society of the United States does not own, does not fund and does not even assist with ANY animal shelters or local humane organizations. They do not adopt out homeless pets; in fact, when you make a donation, you are ensuring that there will BE no more homeless pets, because there will be no more pets, PERIOD. One of the fundamental core beliefs of the AR movement is that humans do not have a right to own or keep animals for any reason whatsoever, including pets. Their ultimate goal is the destruction of all animal-human contact whatsoever, including the cessation of the practice of breeding and maintaining animals as companions-as pets.

Think I'm making that up? Better think again, and consider these quotes from HSUS CEO Wayne Pacelle:
“I don’t have a hands-on fondness for animals…To this day I don’t feel bonded to any non-human animal. I like them and I pet them and I’m kind to them, but there’s no special bond between me and other animals.” Wayne Pacelle quoted in Bloodties: Nature, Culture and the Hunt by Ted Kerasote

"We have no ethical obligation to preserve the different breeds of livestock produced through selective breeding. . One generation and out. We have no problem with the extinction of domestic animals. They are creations of human selective breeding." Wayne Pacelle, Senior VP of Humane Society of the US, formerly of Friends of Animals and Fund for Animals, Animal People, May, 1993

When asked if he envisioned a future without pets, “If I had my personal view, perhaps that might take hold. In fact, I don’t want to see another dog or cat born.” Wayne Pacelle quoted in Bloodties: Nature, Culture and the Hunt by Ted Kerasote

Think about these quotes the next time you consider sending a donation to the HSUS, especially if you own a pet of ANY kind, and want to continue being able to do so.

HSUS has been instrumental in the deaths of hundreds of innocent animals, including many dogs seized in raids on so-called dog-fighting operations. They were behind the slaughter of over 100 American Pit Bull Terriers in Wilkes County, NC, including tiny nursing puppies, on the grounds that they were "vicious". They were behind the raid on Floyd Boudreaux's dog breeding operation in Louisiana, and within hours of "rescuing" his Pit Bulls, including an old spayed female belonging to his grandson, had killed them all. Upon his trial, Mr. Boudreaux was aquitted and cleared of ALL charges against him within ten minutes on lack of any evidence that he was a dog-fighter, but it was too late to save his dogs. Soon after the Michael Vick story broke on national news, the HSUS was soliciting donations to "care" for his dogs, too, despite the fact that they DID NOT HAVE THE DOGS, and when threatened with investigation, they dropped their plea for money and now insisted that those dogs be killed, too. Same thing following the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina, when they solicited, and received, over 17 million dollars in donations to "care" for the animals that were left homeless when their owners were forced to flee the flood waters. The only money spent directly on the animals themselves was spent on the poison solutions used to inject and kill animals, mostly dogs, by the thousands, as personally witnessed by several friends of mine who'd gone down there with FEMA work crews to start rebuilding, who watched in horror as HSUS staff, wearing the company logo on their shirts, injected and killed dog after dog, often laughing and joking as they did so, tossing the bodies into a pile to be burned. The rest of the money was spent on more advertising and lobbying in Washington.

HSUS opposed ALL breeding of animals as pets, and is pushing mandatory spay/neuter laws all over the country for all cats and dogs, arguing that this is the only way to curb pet "overpopulation". At the same time, they vehemently OPPOSE No-Kill animal shelters and rescues. They are pushing limit laws which limit the number of animals a person may keep, for any reason, often to very small numbers. They are very active in pushing laws which impose such strict regulations on farmers that they will be forced out of business, but then, in the words of HSUS employee and Field Operations Director John Goodwin(a convicted ALF terrorist, by the way): "My goal is the abolition of all animal agriculture." It's NOT about protecting animals from abuse; it's about controlling and subjugating HUMANS through their animals.
The bad thing is that well-meaning people, who are indeed paving the road to Hell with their good intentions, are feeding the Beast through their donations, having no clue where their money is actually going or what it's used for. The HSUS seems more legit to the average American than their compatriot in the Animal Rights/Animal Liberation camp, People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals(PETA), who at least have no qualms about making their agenda of an Animal-Free Society public knowledge. HSUS, after all, does not resort to wild publicity stunts involving naked strippers or having a bloodied Ronald McDonald look-alike handing out gory "Unhappy Meals" to little kids outside of McDonald's restaurants, or putting up billboards comparing the deaths of chickens to the deaths of Jews in the Holocaust, but make no mistake, their agendas are one and the same-no pets, no livestock industry, no fur, no leather, no zoos, no circuses, no animal research, no hunting or fishing, no meat or dairy consumption, no horseback riding, no dog or cat shows, no wool, no Guide or Service dogs, no police or military dogs-NO ANIMAL USE, PERIOD!

Now, HSUS is taking aim on MY pets-my snakes and other reptiles, using the fraudulent "science" of a recent US Geological Survey "study" on the POTENTIAL for environmental impact from large, non-native constrictor snakes, including common Boa Constrictors, as fuel for their push for a nationwide ban on the keeping, breeding, selling, buying and transport of ALL reptile species, and the subsequent mass destruction of all captive-owned reptiles, especially non-native species like Ball and Burmese Pythons and Boas. They want to KILL MY ANIMALS, and possibly YOUR animals, too. They are succeeding because they have the financial means and the image of "humane" that legitimizes them in the eyes of many lawmakers, all because people continue to donate money to them, often people who will themselves ultimately be adversely affected by HSUS-sponsored legislation. The only way to stop the Beast is to cut off its food source-MONEY-DO NOT DONATE TO HSUS! Spread the word-let others know the truth about this organization and its real goals, which are disguised as "animal welfare". If you own or breed animals of any kind, be aware that your ability to do so is under attack; you might not feel that effect right now, but at some point, it WILL come back to you unless enough people are made aware of the deception of this money-making corporate giant."

i support this entirely, in fact i did not know the hsus was like this til i read here! im glad i know now. i never did support peta or alf either. please repost this in your journals so people at least have a chance to think twice about supporting these groups

Thank you for reading
